Earlier this week, I set off from London to Austin to attend the first #MageTitansUSA event, organized by Space48 and WebShopApps / ShipperHQ (I should say early on that my flights were courtesy of the awesome MageMojo). Despite not being a developer, I’ve already been to both of the UK events, which I’ve really enjoyed (despite only understanding ~50% of the content).
The MageTitans event was very well structured and the venue was great! The speakers were brilliant (both in terms of content and delivery) and the range of topics covered was very broad, including a number of non-technical talks which I really enjoyed (particularly Brendan Falkowski’s B2B talk, Kimberley Thomas’s agile project management talk and Allan Macgregor’s machine learning talk).
The main thing that I got from the event though was meeting and chatting to lots of people that I’ve not met in real life before – as well as people I already knew. It’s always really interesting to talk to people who runs agencies or are having the same struggles with M2, as well as getting feedback about Klevu. The evening parties were great and the free bars certainly added to them J
I’d definitely recommend attending the next event – it was well worth coming over for and I’ll definitely be back (Austin is also my new favourite US city!).
I’ve been told that the videos of the talks will be available online soon, so definitely worth keeping an eye out for those.
I would also like to thank MageMojo, who very kindly paid for my flights from London > Austin, after I won their competition. They’re really nice chaps and if you’re evaluating your hosting, you should talk to them!
